Privacy Policy

Plain-language notes on what this website collects and what we do with it.

Golden Hive Digital is a small website studio run by Jodi, a California sole proprietorship based in San Jose. On this page, “I” and “me” mean Golden Hive Digital.

The short version

  • The contact form only collects what you type into it, and I use it to reply to you.
  • I don’t sell, rent or trade your information.
  • You can ask me to see, correct or delete what you’ve sent me (with a few legal and tax exceptions).

What the contact form collects

When you send the form on the Contact page, it sends me:

  • your name
  • your business name, if you fill it in
  • your email address
  • your current website or Google profile link, if you fill it in
  • your message

The form is delivered by Web3Forms (opens in a new tab), a form service that passes your message on to my email inbox at jodi@goldenhivedigital.com. Web3Forms handles your message under its own privacy policy. The form also has a hidden spam-check box that people don’t see.

The client form

Clients who sign up with me also fill in a short form about their business. It collects business and contact details, hours, service area, whether to show an address, Google listing and web address details, and links to photos. I use it only to build and look after that client’s website and Google listing. It is delivered by Web3Forms in the same way.

Email and mail

If you email me or send mail to my PO box, I get your contact details and whatever you include, and I use them to reply.

How I use your information

Only to reply to you, to build a free preview if you ask for one, and to keep a record of our conversation. I don’t sell, rent or trade your information, and I don’t share it except with the services that deliver it to me (Web3Forms, my email provider) or if the law requires it.

If I email your business, I use the public business contact details I found, and I stop when you ask.

Cookies, analytics and site logs

This site doesn’t set its own cookies. To count visits, it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics (opens in a new tab), a cookieless, privacy-friendly visit counter. It counts page visits without tracking you personally and doesn’t build profiles of you across other sites.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which may keep basic technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site running and secure.

This site doesn’t track you across other sites, so it doesn’t change anything when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

How long I keep it

I keep contact messages for up to 2 years, then delete them. I keep client agreements and billing records as long as the law or my taxes require.

Keeping it safe

I use reasonable steps to protect what you send me, but no method is perfectly secure.

Your choices

You can ask me what I have from you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, unless I need to keep it for legal, tax or contract reasons. Email jodi@goldenhivedigital.com or write to the mailing address below.

Children

This site is for businesses and isn’t meant for children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the effective date at the top.
